I keep writing posts claiming that I'm not dead, and that I'm just busy doing stuff. Well I did it again. Again. When did my life get so hectic? Oye. Haven't posted in over two weeks again, shame on me. Here's what I've been up to...

On the first weekend of October, my parents' came up to visit and that was really nice. I took my mother to Oh So Good in the Byward Market on Friday night, and then took both of them out for late breakfast at Zak's on Saturday. The first place serves nothing but deserts and drinks, and while it carries a high price tag - it cost me a little under $30 for a slice of cake, a slice of cheescake, a large milk and a tea - it is so worth it. Zak's is just amazing. They're basically a 24hrs diner, with 24hrs breakfast, and their food is to die for I tell ya!

On Sunday it was the day of the Reptile Expo (it happened after all!) and I gleefully picked myself up a ball python and a pac man frog. My mother - after holding my snake - then decided she wanted one too and got one of her own. She named the little guy Fluffy, of all things. These are my two babies.

This is Galen, my male ball python.

Here he is in his terrarium.

And this is Doot, my albino Pac Man frog. He's all mouth and feet :3
I was sad to discover, however, that one of my tarantulas died that same Sunday. My Brachypelma vagans, Hunter, died of unknown causes and I found him in a death curl in his burrow. My other 6 are doing wonderfully however, and I'm keeping a close eye on them.
I went in to see my personal trainer that Monday, and decided to stop going. Going to the gym was just taking up way too much of my out-of-work time and it was stressing me the hell out. I've been so happy since I stopped going. So happy! Now I just need to cancel my gym membership it stops charging me XD

Last weekend was Thanksgiving here in Canada so I drove up to my parents' place to go spend the weekend and whatnot. It was nice to be in the country again, and I had a good drive there and back. Seeing the family almost all together again was really nice too, doesn't happen too often anymore.

We had one supper at the neighbour's on Saturday, because even though my mother cooked it, the neighbour's wife refused to set foot in my parents' house because of my mother's snake. Then after supper my father, the neighbour and I went out driving looking for moose. We didn't spot any moose, but the neighbour shot a partridge and he was nice enough to give it to me. I cleaned it and had it for lunch the next day, so delicious.

On Sunday we had a quick coffee with my grandparents, since my grandfather wasn't feeling well enough to come to family dinner, and then we headed over to my aunt's for a second supper there. And what greeted me upon opening my car door? The most adorable puppy EVER. His name is Rusty, and he's a 5 month old Basset Hound and I am in love. Had I had the room and time, I would've adopted him, because my cousin has no real time to care for him either. And my aunt's little pot belly piglets are growing so big! So cute! Supper was great too, and lots of laughs were shared that evening. I decided to drive home late Sunday night, however, and left around 9:30PM to avoid Monday's traffic. Good move, too, since the highway practically empty the whole way home.

Here are some photos from that weekend...

My parents' dog, Muffin, glaring evily.

Rusty, the uber-adorable puppy!

Me and Rusty :3 Goodness what a sweetie he was!
I spent my Monday basically relaxing, and this has been another typical week... Oh! But my tarantula Pumpkin molted yesterday! He's my second tarantula, a Pamphobeteus sp. "platyomma", and I think he may already be reaching 4 inches in leg span fully stretched out. No photos yet though, since he was curled up in his hide when I noticed, and I had no time this morning while he was out. I've also moved Nyx to a larger container because he molted this week too, and I moved Thor into a larger one as well because it can't hurt heh.

Tonight I'm going to a "goodbye" supper for my friend René. We worked together in another library and our other friend decided we should have a fairwell supper for him because he got a job out in Edmonton, Alberta and is leaving in mid-November. I'm not quite looking forward to it because two of the ladies I'd been hoping to see there won't be able to make it, and a woman I'm not very fond of is also going to be there... Oh well, at least two of my friends will be there and that's what counts.

Tina and I will be leaving after to go to the Petsmart, because I need to pick up some supplies for the Pac Man frog I'll be getting my father at the Reptile Expo in Montreal next weekend and she needs some cat food. After that I don't have much planned for the weekend, just relaxing, which will be very nice. Haven't had a good, chill weekend in a while.

I'm so excited for next weekend though! The Ottawa Tattoo Convention is next Friday and I'll be going to see my tattooist and get the flowers on my arm finally touched up. The guy moved out back to Nova Scotia the day before our appointement to get it done but he'll be in town for the Convention. Then Sunday is the Reptile Expo, and that afternoon is the Zombie Walk. This means my Sunday will involve rising early, but I don't care! Reptiles and zombie fun are worth it!

Well, I'd best get going, and hope this reaches you all in good health and good times. Cheers!
